HISTORY OF THESHAIT PAKIA HIGH SCHOOL The Shait Pakia High School was established in 1967 at one kilometer south side of Jhalokati Barisal Highway of Nalchity Thana Sadar and one kilometer north of Sugandha River, adjacent to the Roads & Highway at a beautiful and charming site in a neglected village with the initiative of local fond of learning Hazi Abdul Gani Khan. M Hatem Ali Talukder, M Shafiuddin Howlader, M Milon Uddin Howlader, Sree Laxmikanto Mistri, M Azahar Ali Khan. A few numbers of benches, bamboo pillars, broken fences, under the shade of golpata, a few number of students it starts its educational activities. Only to keeping view in mind to educate the illiterate people one Mr. Abul Bashar who is from Dhaka, Headmaster, Sree Gourango Das Samadder who is from Nalchity, M Noor Mohammad Mina who is from village Baharampur, Abdul Matin Mia who is from village Shait Pakia, Abdul Malek Mia who is from village Protap, Mohammad Jalal Ahmed who is from village Karuakathi and his friend M Kabir Hossain from Bhola District, Sree Radhika Ranjan Devnath from village Ishwarkathi and they deploy themselves to educate the illiterate people of this locality without any teaching fees/salary or honourium. In 1971, during the Great Liberation War the activities of this school have been stopped at a great length. In 1972, after the Great Liberation War, again the distinguished fond of learning or attached to education and social devotee Mr. Abdur Rab Khan has taken initiative for the restoration of its academic activities and then the school has again set in motion its academic session. The profound and untiring effort of those who lights the lamp of knowledge to this locality are Mr. Ali Akbar Khan, B.A. B.Ed, from Kathipara, Headmaster, Mr Gouranga Lal Samadder from Nalchity, Babu Sudhansu Kumar Mistri, Abdul Matin Mia, both from -2- Shaitpakia, Moulovi Noor Mohammad Mina from Baharampur, Abdul Latif Mia form Baroi Ara, Abdul Barek Khan from Shait Pakia, Teachers and Sree Debendra Nath Mistri, Class IV staff from Shait Pakia, and attached to learning Abdus Salam Howlader from Shait Pakia they visited house to house and collected students and they also take initiative for spreading out for women’s education. The honorable teachers started teaching without pay and supplied books, khata, pen and papers without cost to the pupils. As a result, local people responses for education a lot in short span of time. On 01.01.1974 the school is recognized by the Jessore Education Board for which the school has become a full pledged High School. At that time, all the money of general fund for the school has given by the individual education attached Mr. Ashraf Ali Khan. A piece of land measuring 1.59 acres has given to Shait Pakia High School by Khan Saifur Rahman (Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Dhaka) as a Power of Attorney on behalf of the land owner Mr. Alok Kumar Chokroborty and Usha Rani Devi with the help of Mr. Motaharuddin Khan. In 1992, Advocate Khan A Karim and Mr. Malek Miah has given more 1.12 acre of land to this High School. Advocate Mr. Khan Saifur Rahman, Advocate Khan A Karim, Mr. Abdul Malek Howlader, Mr. Abdul Karim Khan, Mr. Mortuza Ali, Mr. M Monirul Islam, Mr. Jannatul Ferdaous, Mr. M Chand Mia are the lifelong members of this High School. At present, 328 pupils are studying in this High School. Out of this, 145 are male and 183 are female students. Mentionable, the surrounding nearest institutions of this school are Premhar High School which is situated in and around 2 kilometers in North, Udayan Girls High School are situated in and around 2 kilometers in west, Amirunnessa Girls High School are situated in and around ½ kilometer in South.
