From 1940 some Hindu leaders of Pirojpur area had been thinking to establish a non-government high school to spread education in this undeveloped area. Finally with the direct help of Sree Soilendra Nath Roy Chowdhury, Sree Ramendra Nath Roy Chowdhury and Sree Debendra Nath Roy Chowdhury of the village Rayerkathi, Rajbari, Zamindar of Selimabad Porgona under Bakergonj District this school was started on 01.01.1944 in the name of Pirojpur Adarsha Hindu School on 2.6932 acres of land donated by them by the side of the Baleshwar river in the area of Pirojpur District town. There were separate boarding houses and prayer rooms for the Hindu and Muslim students. Once it was the best school of this southern coastal area in all sides. In course of time it has lost its previous glory for various disadvantages and in need of practical situation of the country its name has been changed as ‘Pirojpur Adarsha Secondary School’ by an order of ADPI, BISE, Jessore in 1965, dated 18.09.1965. At present the school is continuing in its old and damaged buildings which have been declared abandoned by the Deputy Commissioner, Pirojpur. Having no other alternatives we have to continue our school works in those abandoned buildings.
