North East Medical College is an educational establishment that is located at Sylhet. On 01 January, 1996, it was first put into operation.
In order to offer cheap medical care to the community, some special doctors and social workers joined together to build Northeast Medical College Hospital in 1996 in the center of Sylhet.
On August 9, 1996, the honorable speakers Alhaj Humayun Rashid Chowdhury officially opened Northeast Medical College Hospital.
After that, the founder realizes the need to start a private medical college to accommodate the rising demand from deserving students and the nation’s need for specialist physicians. Northeast Medical College was established in 1998 by Northeast Medical Pvt. Ltd. On December 12, 1999, the honorable Jonab Sala Uddin Yousuf, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, laid the foundation stone for the North East Medical College.
In south Surma, close to the Sylhet-Dhaka highway, further 6 (Six) acres of land have been purchased, and the college and hospital buildings, including the administrative block, have been finished. On May 24, 2002, Honorable Finance and Planning Minister Jonab Alhaj M. Saifur Rahman, M.P., officially opened this. The institute also expanded to a multistory college building and hospital with 600 beds. Excellent professional staff who have enriched the teaching, research, and healthcare systems are in charge of running the college and hospital.
