History of College Foundation On 06 January, a meeting was held in the hall room of G.M. Khan building with a view to establishing a women’s college. In the presence of so many elites, the meeting was presided over by Mowlana Golam Mostafa Khan, an aged politician, a renowned server of the society and a great donor. In the end of the meeting, it was unanimously decided that a women’s college would be set up to faciliate Girls’ higher education .The site was selected in Malipur Mouja, ward no- 1 under Nalchity Municipality near Sugandhya river, a little bit south to Sugandhya. A total land of .75 acre was donated by the eldest son of Mowlana Golam Mostafa Khan. The meeting also approved the decision that Mowlana Golam Mostafa Khan would be the founder for establishing this women’s college and the name of this college would be Mowlana Golam Mostafa Khan Mohila College( in brief it would be knoen as G.M Khan Mohila College).For preliminary supervision, caretaking and conducting the college, an organizing committee was formed consisting of these following personalities : “Organizing Committee ” SL Name Address Post 01 Moslem Uddin Khan Nalchity Chairman 02 Mowlana Golam Mostafa Khan(Founder) Nalchity Member of Founder 03 Md. Khan Mohila College Member Secretary Initial Permission For Student’s Admission Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Barisal, allowed this college to take students’ admission initially in the 11th class for the session 2010-2011 in Humanities, Business studies and Science group. Bengali, English, Agricultural studies, Computer studies are the approved subjects as compulsory for all groups. Approved subjects for Humanities groups are: Economics, Civics, Islamic History, Social welfare, Islamic Studies, Home Economics, Sanskrit and Music. Approved subjects for Business Studies are : Accounting, principle of business and practice, Office management and production marketing, Secretarial science and office management,approved subjects for science group are : Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. There after an Executive committee consisting of five members has been approved by Education Board which is conducting college very Successfully. Dulal Sharif Nominated by DC Member Infrastructure facilities A semi pacca building has already been built by the donated money of the college founder MD. Maowlana Golam Mastafa Khan in 2010. There are 14 rooms of which 02 are being used as office room, 7 are as class rooms, one is as teachers’ room. one is as common room, one is as library, one is as computer room, one is as science laboratory. There is a deep tub well for pure water for students and teachers. By the sanctioned money distributed by Zilla Parishad Jhalokati under the project of Amir Hossain Amu MP, Minister of Industry, a boundary wall has been built partly. The college is connected with electricity for all time, as a result internet based on line activities can be performed very easily. Three desktop computers are now activated for performing on line activities and for the practical class of the students. Data of teachers and Stuff From the very beginning of the college, Mr. Motaleb Mallik, an Assistant professor of Bengali has been performing his duties as a founder principal in accordance with the terms and conditions that after completing his duties as a teacher of Z.A. Vhutto Degree College, he will perform the duty as a principal of this college as a honorary service . . There are 14 lecturers having one in each subject, Two demonstrators, an assistant librarian. Besides 2 staff of third class and four staff of fourth class are doing duties as employees. The result of public examination of this college is satisfactory. In 2013, 41 examinees out of 48 came out successful. The passed rate is 85.41%. In 2014, 113 examinees are going to appear at the HSC examination. This college has been able to get a satisfactory favour of Alhajj Amir Hossain Amu, honorable MP(Jhalakati-2), Minister of Industry. G.M. Khan college is the only women’s college for women’s higher education. If this college get academic recognition and MPO benefit 100% hope of so many girl’s of this backward area will be fulfilled and at the same time teachers and employees will also be able to develop the standard of their lives.
