Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College is an educational establishment that is located at Dhaka. On 01 January, 1999, it was first put into operation.
The Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College was founded in the academic year 1999–2000 with the help of the Janonetri Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of the nation’s founding father and defender of democracy, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Salim, MP, chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Sheikh Kabir Hossain, and all of the medical professionals employed by the Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital, who were all led by Professor Dr.
The College adheres to the MBBS course syllabus established by Dhaka University and the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. The Bangladeshi government sets the standards for student eligibility, and Dhaka University administers the professional exams and issues the diplomas for MBBS degrees.
In the academic year 1999–2000, it had 50 students at the beginning of its journey. We currently have roughly 800 students, and 135 new students, with a maximum of 50% foreign students, are admitted throughout each academic session. The Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital (HFRCMCH), a tertiary care hospital founded in 1953 with 720 beds and providing clinical services in all specialties of medical science, is where the thirteen batches of students who have already graduated as doctors are currently completing their internship training.
The Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College and Hospital is situated on 8.10 acres of land at 1, Eskaton Garden Road, Dhaka-1000, in the center of the city. Academic activities have already begun at all levels in the new, state-of-the-art six-story academic building, which spans a vast area of one million twenty-three thousand square feet and has all contemporary conveniences.
Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College, which was founded in 2000, has come a long way over the past 17 years and earned a remarkable reputation among the nation’s non-government medical colleges. For effective lecture delivery, we have a sufficient number of qualified teaching staff members as well as contemporary teaching tools like computers, multimedia projectors, and digital sound systems. This medical school contains a complete library with enough textbooks, reference materials, and journals. High-speed internet capabilities with HINARI access are available in the library.
