Ghoshkati Mohavidyalaya is situated in the district of Pirojpur under Nazirpur Upazila from a remote village named Ghoshkati. In spite of being established the Intermediate college in the bank of Belua river in an isolated atmosphere, it is full of some memorable events. Ex-Up Chairman, edueagerful, donor Late Manoranjan Halder devoted to himself with all his efforts for the development of his underdeveloped area with a view to improve education he set-up a secondary school named Manoranjan Biddyanicaton. Along with this process in 1972, he established a higher secondary education institution named by “Richaran Mohavidyalaya” by his own financial efforts. But in this regard some parallel edueagerful of this area such as, Biswanath Ojha (Teacher), Doct. Dhirendra Nath Halder, Dinobandhu Halder (Teacher), Nani Gopal Singha (Teacher), Dr. Dhirendra Nath Sikder, Mahendra Nath Suter etc. inspired him relentlessly. Near about 75 examinees were centered-up from that college only one year. But it is a matter of sorrow that, after the killing of Nations father “Bangobandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahaman” without any reason it was abolished. Nextly, son-in-law of Manoranjan Halder, Member of Parliament in Pirojpur-1, Advocate Sudhangshu Sekhor Halder re-established the Mohavidyalaya. During that time the youth, energetic, edueagerful Babu Sushen Kumar Halder, Nirmal Halder and other elite persons of the area came forward to re-establish the Mohavidyalaya. Then, only one inheritor of Manoranjan Halder, Babu Uzzal Dip Halder gave away some land for the college. On that land on 21st April, 1998 has set-up traditional educational institution named by “Ghoshkati Mohavidyalaya”. Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Barisal approved the college on 1st April, 2000. After two years on 1st May, 2004 the institution obtained MPO (Monthly Payment Order). Mentionable, the daughter Late Manoranjan Halder and the wife of Late Sudhangsu Sekhar Halder, Ex-Women Member of Parliament Sadhona Rani Halder also gave away some land for the college. In spite of being a broken infrastructure the institution has been able to achieve glorious result with the help of a group of expert, young, energetic and enthusiasm teachers’ hard work. For example, here mentioned some years passing rate, such as 2010 (86.76%), 2011 (97.30%), 2012 (98.88%). Noticeable in 2012 the institution acquired according to merit list 18th place under Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board of Barisal.
