BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) is an educational establishment that is located at 105 S.R. Tower, Uttara Commercial Area, sector-7, Uttara, Dhaka. It was founded by Muzaffar U. Siddique. Its Educational Institute Identification Number or EIIN, is 136693. On 11 January, 1999, it was first put into operation.
Its motto is Innovating Excellence Through Education. The alternative name for BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) is বিজিএমইএ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ফ্যাশন অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি (বিইউএফটি).
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology or BUFT is a university in Bangladesh. It was established with the aim to produce technically competent human resources for the Ready Made Garments sector of the country. It was established by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association in 1999. It started functioning in 2000 and was affiliated to the National University, Bangladesh in 2001. BUFT, in collaboration with international organizations such as United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), European Union (EU), German Technical Co-operation (GTZ), and the South Asia Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF), is working for further growth and development.
