Adamjee Cantonment College is a renowned and well established educational institution. It is crowned with the glory of passing over a half century in the field of education sector of Bangladesh. The institution has earned the rare prestige of being one of the top ranking colleges of Dhaka Education Board for its outstanding academic achievement in HSC exam for the last three consecutive academic years. Besides the students of graduate and post graduate level most often achieve brilliant results which uphold the image of National University. The mission of this institution is to create opportunity for the students to develop themselves in the best possible way both in curricular and extracurricular fields. The campus is located in the heart of Dhaka Cantonment covering a land area of 8.82 acres. Gul Muhammad Adamjee, son of the founder of Adamjee Dynasty – Sir Haji Dawood Adamjee, established Adamjee Cantonment Modern School. Begum Gul Muhammad Adamjee laid the foundation stone on January 13, 1958. Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan, the then President of Pakistan inaugurated the school on January 27, 1960. The motto of this college is to impart education, discipline and morality. It has a flag of navy blue colour with the monogram of the college. Before liberation the college achieved the prestige of being a reputed English Medium institution. After liberation, Bengali became the medium of study. The students appeared at the Matriculation and Intermediate Examinations in 1962 and 1964 respectively for the first time. The graduation course (pass) was introduced in 1972-1973 session. In the session 1996-1997 Masters Course was introduced and in the session 1998-1999 Honours in English, Accounting, Political Science and Economics was introduced. Following this, in the session 2004-2005 BBA programme was introduced. In the session 2009-2010, Honours Course in Management has been started and procedure for opening MBA programme is in progress. National curriculum in English version for class XI was launched last year. Now almost 4,000 students study in different levels in this college.
