The Department of Agricultural Statistics had been established in 1983 under the faculty of Agriculture. In 2001 the department of Computer Science merged to Agricultural Statistics, then its name changed into the Department of Statistics and Computer Science. The Department of Statistics again separated from the Department of Computer Science in 2011 and it became under the faculty of Agricultural economics and rural development in 2013. The department of statistics offers different courses for the students of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels.
