Fisheries Technology Department is one of the flourishing department in the Faculty of Fisheries, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur, Bangladesh was auspiciously launched its academic activity since 2009. Nowadays, proper utilization of fisheries resources, development of fisheries products and by-products, and its quality control and assurance particularly for frozen food industry are emphasized in Bangladesh. On the perception of post-harvest technology, this department offers more advanced and applied courses on Fish Harvesting, Fisheries Microbiology, Fish Processing, Fishery Products and By-products, Marine Food Chemistry and Quality Control of Fishery Products in the partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of ‘Bachelor of Science’ in Fisheries. Recently, a highly demanding graduate program, Master of Science (MS) in Fisheries Technology has launched from Winter Term/2015 from our department. We hope the graduates who will complete postgraduate degree from this department will be able to play a vital role in overall fisheries sector at home and abroad.
