“Mathematics, in broad, is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change (i.e. of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and analysis). In addition to these main concerns, it is also dedicated to exploring links from the core (pure mathematics) to other fields: to logic, to set theory (foundations) and to the empirical mathematics (applied mathematics) of various sciences, engineering, medicine, statistics , game theory, social sciences, and more recently to the rigorous study of uncertainty.
Considering such essentiality of mathematics, Pabna University of Science and Technology has introduced the Department of Mathematics from the very beginning (2009) in a mission to build a rational and scientific generation who will frequently focus on various fields of sciences and also contribute to the wealth of the country as a whole.
To make a good collaboration with the latest researches of modern world like engineering, computer algorithm, mathematical physics, mathematical statistics and mathematical finance, we try our best to keep the syllabi updated by designing sufficient lab-oriented programs along with the theoretical courses, final year project presentations, dissertations, semester-wise continuous assessment and also viva-voce. Our ambition is to provide quality education to achieve excellence in mathematics and all other sciences and finally to make responsible citizens.”
