Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). This department conducts all of its academic activities under the faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) which is the second oldest faculty of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur-5200, Bangladesh. Although this department started its academic activities from July 13, 2016, its history goes back to 2004.
During the establishment of the faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in 2004, two departments named as Computer Science and Information Technology (CIT) and Computer Engineering (CEN) were formed in order to offer the major courses for Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (B.Sc. in CSE) degree. Later on, in July 13, 2016, both of the departments were unified to as Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in order to accelerate the advancement in the academic journey.
This department offers the major courses for B.Sc. in CSE degree. Besides, this department also conducts a few courses for the other two degrees (B.Sc. in ECE and B.Sc. in EEE) offered from the faculty of CSE. Outside of the faculty, Dept. of CSE offers courses in the following faculties in different degrees based on their curricula; Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Business Studies, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Fisheries, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Social Science and Humanities. This department is planning to start postgraduate program (Master of Science) in very recent future.
The department of CSE is run by a group of talented, young, energetic, student-friendly, enthusiastic and skilled teachers to spread the knowledge of Computer Science and Information Technology. This department is contributing in the development of the nation by producing quality graduates.
There are two student organizations under this department, CSE Club, and Programmers Arena, to promote the knowledge sharing environment for the students of B.Sc. in CSE.
