It provides a diverse research environment, which enables students to actively participate in the department’s life, and excel in their studies.
Mentored by our 34 dedicated research faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students are pursuing basic research projects in all areas of Chemistry such as Organometallic & coordination cluster Chemistry, Physical & Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Advanced Chemical Kinetics, Adsorption Phenomena of Bioadsorbents, Antidiabetic Activities of Metal Complexes, Solid Phase Extraction of Metals, Metal Speciation, Liquid Crystal and Biopolymer Chemistry, Synthetic Organic and Natural product Chemistry. Extensive facilities are available for cutting edge research. Many of the Faculty members in the department earned their Ph.D. degrees from advanced countries and possess postdoctoral research experience. A few of them serve as editors of major research journals both home and abroad and received major local, national and international attention.
The Department is committed to undergraduate and graduate student training and mentoring. Our research faculty members provide excellent training opportunities for students who seek to gain hands-on research experience in Chemistry. Our team of excellent faculty mentors is dedicated to undergraduate education. Members of the team have been frequently recognized for their teaching effectiveness and innovative efforts in curriculum up gradation.
