Animal Science Department was established from the beginning of the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture. Now the Department of Animal Science and Nutrition is one of the full-fledged department from the beginning of the establishment of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, 2011. This department comprises with two major disciplines of livestock production; one is “Animal Nutrition” and another is “Animal Science”. The courses offered from the department are related with production, processing, and technology. The mission of the Department is to secure sufficient supply of balanced feeds from resources which do not compete with human food – production of grain in developing countries is mostly for human consumption and to serve the country by achieving the highest standard in the advancement of knowledge through research and scholarly publications and by the communication of that knowledge to successive generations of students through excellence in teaching.
