Welcome to Sholak Victoria Secondary School Sholak Victoria Secondary School is one of the oldest and best school in Barisal district . It was founded by Mr. Satish Chandra Sen Mazumder in 1899 with only 10 students and recognished as a High School qualified to send candidates to the Entrance Examination by the Syndicate of Calcutta University in 1901. It was named after the name of MAHARANI VICTORIA who was the powerful queen of England, to attract the attention of the British rulers for getting recognition. From the beginning, this school was permanent recognized and it is said that the permanent recognition system was cancelled because no student appeared in the Entrance Examination for two years as the Headmaster who was a Hindu gentleman ran away from school at the time of riot between the Hindus and the Muslims in 1950. The people want that the permanent recognition system should be introduced again. The school is situated in the heart of densely populated village, Sholak. The environment of this school is very fine. It has vast land properties of 8.35 acres. A metallic road passes alongside the school premises connected with the Upazilla and district headquarters. The participation of the local elites and well wishers are praiseworthy. The results of the SSC and JSC have all along been satisfactory. It has a reputation for games and sports.
