Mymensingh Medical College is an educational establishment that is located at Mymensingh. On 01 January, 1924, it was first put into operation.
Mymensingh Medical College is a government postgraduate medical school that offers MBBS, BDS, and postgraduate programs in 27 different academic fields through Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Dhaka University (BSMMU). Each year, 138 students are accepted into a variety of postgraduate programs, including 52 BDS students and 197 MBBS students, 10% of them are international students.
As a nod to the then-Gov. of Bengal, Mr. Lytton, it was established in Baghmara as the “Lytton Medical School” in 1924. Up until 1962, the medical school offered the Licentiate of Medical Faculty (LMF) program. When Mymensingh Medical College was established in 1962, the first batch of 32 students enrolled in the MBBS program (M 01). The official publication of Mymensingh Medical College, Mymensingh Medical Journal is a journal included in MEDLINE and Index Medicus.
