Mr. Tapan kumar Biswas an educationist and social reformer, posed a dream of establishing an educational institution in his native village kathira, with a view to removing the curse of ignorance and illiteracy of the under prevailed poor villagers around. And in 1986, his long cherished dream come true with the establishment of a Junior high school by the name kathira Adarsha Bidya Niketon. Kathira – Agailjhara of Dist. Barisal. After going through a long hardship and ups and downs, the institution achieved its slandered of excellence to do a full fledged high school in 1992. The same year, the school was inspected by Mr. Kazi Waliur Rahaman an inspector of schools. The Board of secondary and Higher secondary schools of Jessore and through an official letter permitted the school of open class 9 &10 respectively in 1992 &1993. More over asked to open Science department in 1994. Its public exam’s result is also keeping pace with the other standard school of the respective education board of Barisal.
