About BMB
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) is a frontier discipline in exploring the fundamentals of life. To meet the demand of 21st-century biological research, the development of research capabilities in the field of BMB is critically important because the discipline is coined with all sorts of biological science education and researches. Thousands of BMB graduates from Chittagong University (CU) are immensely contributing to the national and international level for ensuring the quality of pharmaceuticals, diagnostic, health, and agro-based products. Since, the inception of the department, it is playing the key regulator of biological science research and education in Chittagong University (CU). Through formal and informal mechanisms, we the department interact and share ideas and facilities with teachers, students, and researchers throughout the faculty of biological sciences and university. Recently, the department has updated its course catalog and established the Center for Research Excellence (CRE) to ensure the quality education and research in CU.

Mission of BMB-CU
The BMB-CU ensures modern teaching-learning facilities (modern physical facilities including well-equipped classrooms, library support, and laboratory facilities and team efforts of trained academic members).
The BMB-CU curriculum includes the modern-art-of-BMB educations-learning and prepares its graduates with the knowledge of cutting-edge technologies.
The BMB-CU practices the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) for accommodating stakeholders’ demand in curriculum and prepares BMB-CU graduates accordingly for better serving in the JOB market.
The BMB-CU is actively working to establish advanced research facilities in collaboration with national and international academic and research institutes for promoting and improving research and education methodologies through student-exchange programs and material transfer agreement. These approaches help BMB-CU to establish and implement quality research activities dealing with national and global needs.
The BMB-CU has its own system for continuous quality improvement and self-assessment program.
