A brief Description about COLONEL (RTD.) OLI AHMED BIR BIKROM DEGREE COLLEGE. Dr. Colonel Oli Ahmad Bir Bikrom (he is one of the most famous freedom fighters and organizers of the Bangladesh Liberation War) honorable MP along with the dedicated educationists of Purangor and Bazalia, under Satkania Upazila established COLONEL (RTD.) OLI AHMED BIR BIKROM DEGREE COLLEGE at Bazalia, Satkania in 1995 on 3.68 Acres land for the purpose of spreading the light of higher education among the large poor people of backward Satkania in the east of South Chittagong. After establishment in 1995 the college got permission for imparting education to the students of Arts and Business studies groups in 1997. It got Academic recognition for the first time in 2001. It also got permission for imparting education to the students of Science group in 2003 and at the same time got permission for imparting education to the students of H.S.C (BM) course under Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Dhaka. By the grace of Almighty it got recognition for imparting education to the students of DEGREE BBS (Pass) in 2009. At present about 600 students study in different courses. Now the college has turned into a renowned college in south Chittagong under the proper supervision of the Chairman of College governing body Mr. Alhaj Mohammad Jakaria Sikder.
