Students are admitted to these programs after high school and receive a degree after 5 years of study and a 1-year internship in a government-owned public hospital.

The Rajshahi region’s residents were deprived of medical education and healthcare resources after East Bengal’s 1947 independence from India. A private medical school was established in Rajshahi city in 1949 thanks to the initiative of a few well-known members of civil society and politically active citizens. They initially began offering the LMF diploma program through the Dhaka State Medical Faculty. In the initial batch, 80 students were admitted.
