Bajitpur Degree College

Bajitpur College, a traditionally reputed educational institution of Bajitpur Upazilla , known as the gate way of low lying areas of Kishoreganj District, is situated at the central point of hundred years old Bajitpur Municipality. Surrounded by a lovely and charming natural environment, the institution is founded in 1964 as a Higher Secondary College by means of the heart –felt and ceaseless efforts of some encouragers of learning of the area. With the promise of spreading the light of education among the educationally backward people of this area, the college raised its head as a Degree College in 1970. Al-Haj Jahurul Islam, a renowned industrialist and patron of learning of this area, supported financial help to start the B.Sc course and modernize its science labs and library. Consequently, the college raised its honour as a complete Degree College in 1990. Jahurul Islam’s Islam Group is still rendering its helping hands towards over-all development and in solving the financial crisis of the institution. With its vast area, magnificent campus, enriched science labs and library, wide play ground and above all, with the quality teaching of its experienced and promising teachers, the college is highly competent for making the learners as complete citizens physically, mentally and morally. The institution is still advancing with its efficient administration, support from quality members of the governing body, local administration, encouragement and inspiration of the lovers of learning of the area. Every year the learners of this institution win the glory of success in different exams of Higher Secondary Education Board and National University. .Higher Secondary and Degree (Pass) Exams are held in Bajitpur College Center normally and peacefully. Beside learning, the college encourages games and sports, cultural programs, building up leadership among the learners to make them a ‘whole man’ physically, mentally and morally. Moreover, the college arranges an excursion for the students every year to widen their outlook and knowledge. The college introduced the honours Course for the first time in Accounting and Management from the session of 2011-12 by means of the heart- felt and ceaseless efforts of Mr. Afzal Hossain, honorable Member of Parliament of Bajitpur- Nikhli area. The introduction of honours Course in other two subjects like Political Science and Social Work is under process.
