Over view The education city is Rajshahi, the city of peace is Rajshahi. There was of no type of institution by the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman so as to uplift his memory and activities inspite of naming the educational institution or hostel after almost all savants, nursing maids of culture, politicians and social servers in Rajshahi; the city of education and peace. Taking forth this matter, the renowned educationists, politiciaans, social servers took the decision of founding a highly educational institution by the name of ' Bangabandhu College, Rajshahi ' in a meeting on 08/12/19994. A group of juvenile work-excited initiators including Professor Mr. Abdul Khalek, the teacher and writer of Bengali Department of Rajshahi University (Subsequently he took up the post of Vice Chancellor of Rajshahi University); Professor Mr. Abul Fazal, the teacher of Political Science Department of Rajshahi University ( the former treasurer, Rajshahi University); Mr. Ziad Ali, the former Director of IBS of Rajshahi University; Professor Dr. Mr. Kayes Uddin, the teacher of Bio-Chemitry of Rajshahi University (Subsequently he carried out the responsibility of Vice Chancellor of Kustia University); the distnguished politician Advocate A.H.M. Khayruzzaman Liton ( At present, he is the Honourable Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation); Advocate Nurul Islam Thhandu, the ex-V.P. of Rajshahi University (Now he is on duty as the Chairman of Varendro Development Authority); Mr. Afsaruzzaman, the former Chairman of Rajshahi Education Board; Ex-M.P. Mr. Shah Sirajul Islam; Mr. Belayet Ali, the former Principal of Rajshahi New Government Degree College; Politician Mr. Neser Ahmed; Mr. Shamsul Haque Korayeshi, the former College Inspector Rajshahi Education Board; is one of the involved or chief initiators with the process of establishing ' Bangabandhu College Rajshahi '. The first steering committee of the college was formed making Mr. Shamsul Haque Korayeshi the chairman in the cited meeting and Mr. Abdur Razzak principal. In spite of taking the steps of admitting learners in 1994, it did not become possible by reason of manifold administrative complexities. Overcoming all the obstacles subsequently, the education programme of the college got under way in 1995 by way of the admission of the students in 1995-1996 education year. At present, Mr. Fazle Hossain Badsha, honourable Perlament Member of Bangadesh Jatio Songsod,is the chairman of the Governing Body, the Combined Cultural Alliance, Rajshahi and the Liberation War Library, Rajshahi are the general secretaries and Mr. Md. Nurul Islam now as the Principal. The college obtained academic recognitions in higher secondary level on 04/05/1997 and it was included in Degree on 07/03/2000. It was enlisted in MPO in higher secondary level on 01/02/1998 and in Degree level on 01/04/2001. The students of the college are increasing more and more and the results of the public examinations are overmuch good. the lessons are imparted to the students in a special process and cordial atmosphere. The contact is kept with the guardians all the while. The members of Governing Body, the teachers-employees, various educationists, politicians and gurdians are prosecuting efforts in all spheres in the overall development of the college.
